Antique German opera glasses / field glasses in original fitted carrying case, retailed by O. Obenhaus Junior of Berlin. Black metal body with brown leather covering, central zoom wheel, and red silk-lined hard case with gilt retailer imprint reading “O. Obenhaus Junior am Kölnischen Fischmarkt 5 Berlin.” A nice displayable late 19th to early 20th century optical piece with strong visual appeal.

Condition:
Shows honest age and use throughout. Case exterior has noticeable wear, scuffing, edge loss, and surface cracking, with some separation and age-related deterioration. Interior silk lining shows wear and fading but retains strong color and clear gilt stamp. Opera glasses have finish loss, rubbing, and general cosmetic wear to the housings and rims. Lenses show dust/specking and visible wear from age; zoom wheel functions and zooms.
